ME IMPORTAS is a Spanish non-profit organisation that works with vulnerable and socially excluded children, teenagers and women. We aim to offer them the opportunity to have a decent and independent future.

Our priorities are EDUCATION and DEVELOPMENT.

We support the promotion of opportunities and the respect of the Human Rights in a programme where the relationship between the donor, the association and the benefactors is close and transparent.

We run specific programmes and projects that are focussed on the education and development, health, and job creation

We believe in the collaboration with local institutions and organisations as a key factor to reach our common goals and to obtain self-determination and independence in southern countries.

Mission

To improve the standard of living of communities in southern countries by providing them with sufficient resources to be able to take part in their own development. To give children, teenagers and families we work with a real opportunity to have a decent and independent future through projects and programmes focused on education and development.

Goals

Our goals are:

To improve the standard of living of communities in SOUTHERN COUNTRIES by providing them with sufficient resources for them to TAKE PART IN THEIR OWN DEVELOPMENT with the instruments received from the Development Cooperation and strengthening civil society institutions.

To foster the DEVELOPMENT of people and communities through EDUCATION and the promotion of OPPORTUNITIES so that southern countries can achieve actual INDEPENDENCE and SELF-DETERMINATION.

To keep CHILDREN away from child labour, poverty and abuse.

The empowerment of WOMEN.

To COMUNICATE, as a testimony of other realities, about problems and solutions. Raising social awareness, increasing participation and GROWTH. Fostering a sense of solidarity and EMPATHY, making solidarity a lifestyle, feeling others problems as our own, demonstrating that we care about them.

ME IMPORTAS has other collaborators in Spain, Guatemala and India whose help is essential for the organisation to reach its goals. We also work closely with local organisations and institutions.
